The ABB robot control system consists of three parts: the robot body, controller, and teaching pendant. The controller is the core of the robot control system, including the ABB control module.
ABB control modules typically include components such as the main computer, main servo drive unit, I/O module board, power module, and safety panel.
The main computer is the brain of the entire controller, running the robot operating system RobotWare-OS, executing user written programs, and controlling the robot’s response actions. The main computer has many interfaces, such as the service network port connected to the programming PC, the network port used to connect the teaching pendant, the interface connecting to the axis computer board, the interface connecting to the security panel, different fieldbus card interfaces (such as PRROFIBUS, PROFNET, DeviveNet, etc.), the security board interface, and other optional interfaces.
The main servo drive unit is used to drive the 6-axis servo motor of the robot. The I/O module board is a user-defined input/output signal board used to connect external signals. The power module converts 220V AC power into 24V DC power and sends it to the power distribution board. The safety panel is used to connect some safety related signals.
The ABB control module can also freely set parameters such as current, voltage, speed, oscillation, etc. for the arc starting, heating, welding, and arc ending sections, and can achieve various complex oscillation trajectories through self setting.
This supervision can be enabled/disabled with a parameter.
